The Design Division Of Marine Lighting International
specializes in lighting design within the super yacht and marine
industry.
Our design team is able to provide a complete service from the concept
through to the commissioning stage with innovative solutions and
ideas conforming to marine specifications.
Our aim is to design and develop a project with the complete realization
of the needs and requirements of the client.
The company provides in depth knowledge with a professional understanding
of each specific project.
Our methodology:
Described in detail are the various stages of our work, from Concept
Design through to Commissioning.
- Basic Concept
At the preliminary stage, the design processes include the preparation
of Concept Lighting Plans, hand drawn sketches and discussions
of our proposals with the client and design team using illustrations
and graphic images.
- Schematic Phase A
During this phase, we develop the ideas presented in the Concept
Design and the initial Light Fitting Schedules, estimate the total
power required and make a preliminary estimate of the cost of
the lighting system.
- Schematic Phase B
In this phase, as the basic concept has been discussed with the
client, We start by presenting a plan of light fittings to illustrate
our designs as shown in our Luminaire Cut Sheets. Once the feasibility
of the scheme has been reviewed, we may develop illustrative renderings
of our designs using sketches, Photoshop computer visuals or 3D
computer models, which can be rendered using lighting software,
based upon manufacturer's photometric data.
- Design development and documentation
phase
In this stage the design documentation is produced. This consists
of our lighting design documentation, which will include lighting
layouts, elevations, specifications and fixing details describing
how all luminaries are to be fixed and installed. It will also
indicate Electrical Load Schedules, and the number of light fittings
on a circuit for connection to a control system.
- Commissioning
During the commissioning stage we shall provide the required installation
documentation and attend all site meetings to ensure the fixing
of sample fittings are properly adjusted to provide the desired
effect. We shall also be involved with the programming of the
dimming systems and provide different scene settings if required.
